Michael Picado
Michael Picado was born in Cartago, Costa Rica, and holds degrees in Systems Programming and Business Administration. He studied painting from 2009 to 2012.
He has been a painting instructor for 10 years, teaching workshops at various cultural centers and galleries.
Michael has participated in over forty solo and group exhibitions, both within and outside of Costa Rica, including countries such as Mexico, Nicaragua, Colombia, the United States, Poland, and South Korea.

His artistic practice encompasses a wide range of themes, including portraits, architecture, vintage cars, abstract compositions, landscapes, abstract expressionism, and neo-expressionism. His technique involves experimenting with urban imagery using bold brushstrokes and layers of primary and secondary colors, resulting in sinuous images that blur the line between realism and Pop Art, also known as pop expressionism.
